HCG for Weight Loss – How Can it Help You?

Obesity, especially among the citizens of developed nations, is growing at an alarming rate, and doctors and scientists are trying to discover treatments to cure this disease. Statistics reveal that more than two-thirds of U.S adults are overweight, and as such, more and more people are looking for quick and easy therapies to shed this excessive weight.  Something getting all the attention is HCG weight loss.

The Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) hormone, which is produced during the early stages of pregnancy, is gaining popularity amongst the masses because of its weight reduction capabilities. Extensive research into hCG has indicated that an hCG injection of 200 UI or lower enables people to shed excess weight at a dramatic rate of around 1 to 2 lbs per day, and the effectiveness of this hormone increases when it is coupled with a very low-calorie diet (VLCD approx. 500 calories).

Research has shown that the hCG hormone, which is found in the urine of pregnant women, suppresses hunger and enables the body to use its fat reserves as fuel. The human body consists of three different types of fat namely, the structural fat that is found between the skin and organs, the normal fat layer that supplies energy to the body during low calorific intake, and the excessive fat that forms around various parts of the body and has is not beneficial in any way. The hCG weight loss diet focuses on enabling the body to use this excess fat, as opposed to traditional diets which tend to reduce the normal as well as structural fat and also resulted in the breakdown of lean muscles.

Here, it is crucial to mention that hCG diets require that the users limit their daily calories to 500 per day using healthy food (organic and unprocessed food), along with daily injections or serum drops of hCG. The diet plan lasts for around 45 days and is known to not only shed a few pounds per day but also improve the metabolism of the body.  However, many medical experts believe that the low-calorie intake, and not the hCG, is responsible for the dramatic weight loss and also point out the potentially harmful effects of the hormone.
